20/09/2009Here is a photo of my McCormick Feed grinder. I suspect yours is similar. Mine is a an 8 inch type B. There was also a Type A and a type D and they came in 6, 8 and 10 inch size. The B is designed to grind ear but will also grind shell or small grain. These are only for livestock feed, not to make meal, etc.

Like u/velvetjones01 said, it's a bitch to clean. Use a cheap blade grinder for spices imo. Presuming you're just obliterating everything into powder. Benefits of burr grinders are the easily controllable grind sizes. Don't need that for spices, unless you're trying for a coarsely ground pepper or something, just get a pepper mill.
